Here is part 2 of your Ultimate Success Camp story on how you, too, can achieve personal transformation.
Nearing the end of day 1 after Les Brown spoke about living your brilliance, Bill Walsh tells us that it’s about time for a stage hypnosis show.
Now, having heard about stage hypnosis shows, but never having experienced one in person before, you bet it was intriguing. Supposedly after a few suggestions, people had clucked like chickens and done other things they would not normally do when their everyday defenses are up.
So, imagine sitting in a hotel conference room as the hypnotist Will “Millionaire Maker” Duquette is introduced. Will immediately informs you and the rest of the attendees that he almost did not do the show because he was a bit freaked out but had used self hypnosis to instantly overcome what otherwise would have been a debilitating fear for many people.
Pretty amazing, right? (and by the way, that’s the first suggestion that hypnosis works – you think “wow, if hypnosis can work like THAT for him, maybe it can work for me, too”)
After a bit of an introduction, Will asks for 10 people to come up and sit in the 10 chairs, and 10 people to stand behind those 10 people because he had a limited amount of time so he couldn’t work in depth with the people who were more resistant to hypnosis.
If anyone has ever tried to hypnotize you and failed, chances are you had an expectation somewhere in your consciousness that hypnosis did not work for you.
A mad rush to the chairs ensued and I secured a spot standing behind one of the chairs.
Now, I want you to imagine that you are deeply relaxed, like you are walking down a staircase and each step down you take, takes you deeper into relaxation. As you look at the staircase, it comes into your awareness that 10 steps remain and sub-vocally you will count from 10 down to 1 as you continue to move deeper into relaxation as you walk down the stairs. 10, smiling now because you are deeply relaxed as you take the next step down, 9, becoming even more relaxed as you get into a rhythm of going deeper, 8, going even deeper now and smiling as you become aware of how deeply you are relaxed as you count, 7, lightly floating down in your rhythmic state of deep relaxation as you now come to 6, going even deeper now as you continue your steps into 5, feeling comfortable and completely safe as you continue to move into an even deeper state of relaxation by stepping into 4, floating even deeper now in your rhythmic state of deep relaxation in 3, going deeper into comfortable relaxation, 2, comfortably relaxing in your safe state of rhythm, now, 1 so deeply comfortable in your rhythmic state of relaxation.
Wow, if you find yourself in trance right now, let me know in the comments down below about your shared experience.
So, after going through a similar induction (the one above was created by me completely spur of the moment as I was writing this post) I was chosen as one of the 10 to be hypnotized live on stage.
A few of the things we did while under hypnotic suggestion:
- 1 person thought she was a safety belt and jumped in the lap of the person sitting next to her
- We all acted like we were in grade school again and every time the “teacher” (Will) turned his back, we made faces
- Every time we saw napkins, we thought they were hundred dollar bills and hid them in places people wouldn’t look
- I thought my name was Oscar Meyer Weiner even when taking out my ID, seeing my picture, and thinking someone had stolen my identity because it wasn’t the same name on the id

Now, if we did all these things under hypnotic suggestion (by the way – if you were asked to do something under hypnosis that was against your ethics/morals/religion/etc. – you wouldn’t do it while under hypnosis) imagine what you could do simply by replacing all negative/unsupportive beliefs with empowering beliefs.
What would you do when you let go of limiting beliefs and conditioning?
Stay tuned because soon I will attend Will Duquette’s The Shift 3 day Bootcamp
***Update: To further confirm that hypnosis is in fact powerful – when I went home that night, I actually ate a hot dog at like midnight, and it’s been a long time since i’ve done that.***
